A misty morning in May

The weather forecast suggested a sunny(-ish) sunrise this friday, while on saturday it’d likely be cloudy and maybe rainy. So although saturday is my regular day for an early morning walk, I decided to switch to friday to be able to enjoy the nicer weather and sunlight. Now that the sun rises so early (just before 06:00 AM at the moment), I can easily go see the sun rise here at the coast and still be back well in time before work.

So, that’s what I did — I set my alarm to 05:15 AM last night and went to sleep on time. When I woke up this morning and looked out of the window, pretty much all I saw was mist; not what I had expected to see at all! However, as morning mist isn’t all that usual here nearby the sea, I didn’t mind at all.

Below is a dump of my photos of the morning:

The mist in between the dunes makes it hard to see much beyond the first dune top. It’s such a complete different view and feel than usual.

Closer to the ground I did find more color and detail:

The sight was a bit better in the dune forest. I really enjoyed these views with just a hint of mist in the distance:

I finished my walk right whereI started, with the same capture I took before sunrise.
